Monique Becker
Monique Becker was born in Luxembourg in 1958.
She has followed several trainings in all painting and drawing techniques at the Academy of Fine Arts Trier, the Bad Reichenhall and Kolbermoor, with teachers such as Prof. Markus Lüpertz, Prof. Siegfried Anzinger and the very famous Prof. Hermann Nitsch.
In Monique’s paintings, the predominating colour is black, giving her artwork
an aggressive hint. Colour is not perceived as a shade or a sound, but as a
substance, which is spreading, spilling and being scribbled.
Monique
Becker’s artwork is characterised by the superposition of colors, the contact
with the canvas and the successive layers. The lines and structure of her works
generate strength and emotions, creating a unique energy that spreads beyond the
edges of the painting.
Monique lets her creativity guide her and she observes her works to see the flow of the different layers. With the superposition of colours and the several coexisting layers of paint and other materials, she wants to express freedom and joy.
